The Friends of St Mary's Church's publications

All of the publications have a St Mary’s connection, its history, people that have been associated with the Church or events with which the Church has been involved. They are all for sale and the proceeds go to help the Friends support the Church. Over the years we have produced Notelets, Christmas cards, a guide to the Church, a history of the Church, a superb DVD recording of a talk on the history of the Church given by John Bailey, a history of Beilby Porteus and the text of the Beilby Porteus Memorial Lectures. The lectures were named after Beilby Porteus (1731-1809) who was the 116th Bishop of London and made an important contribution towards the fight against slavery. He had a country retreat at Sundridge and lies buried in the churchyard at Sundridge.

The Beilby Porteus Memorial lectures

The Friends have published the first two talks as one edition. The talks are extremely interesting, profound and relevant to today. The talks are easy to read, have humour and are, to say the least, thought provoking.
